Pygmy Owl, Mt Hebo Rd, 9-12-2012

Drove up Mt Hebo road for the first time today, scouting one of the areas that I plan to cover for Sunday's Tillamook County NAMC. This little guy, I believe a NORTHERN PYGMY OWL, was sitting in a small, dead tree by the road about 4 miles from Hebo.
Here's a view from the back
And the side. I am SO EXCITED to get to see one of these little guys, the smallest owl I've ever seen! Even if someone tells me it's not a Pygmy, I know it's something I've never seen before. What a gift!
