
Smallish green parakeet with a fairly long, pointed tail. Grass green overall with yellow greater coverts. Bold white eyering. Gray, partially unfeathered lores. Grayish-pink bill and feet. In flight, shows a yellow patch on the inner secondaries and broad triangular white patch on secondaries and inner primaries. Bluish-green outer primaries. Similar to Yellow-chevroned Parakeet, with which it occasionally hybridizes. Yellow-chevroned Parakeet lacks white on wings and has completely feathered lores.

Habitat:
Inhabits rainforests in native range. In North America, found in parks or residential areas.
Behavior:
Often aggressive. Forages and roosts in large flocks; pairs continuously stay together. Flocks also occasionally gather in areas with natural minerals.
Feeding:
Feeds on insects, fruits, seeds, and nectar.
