
Large, colorful oriole, introduced to southern Florida. Adult is orange with black back, wings, tail, face, and bib; the lower end of the bib fractures into black spots which extend onto the breast. On the wings, coverts form an orange shoulder patch and the tertials create a white patch. Young birds are paler orange, lacking most of the spots. Sexes are similar.

Habitat:
Plantings and large trees in parks and suburbs.
Behavior:
Nest is a pouch suspended from tree branches. Both male and female sing.
Feeding:
Gleans foliage for insects, fruit, berries, and flower nectar.
