
Similar in shape and general color (bright lime green) to Green Parakeet, with a black crown and face, a wash of teal blue-green across the breast, bluish flight feathers and blue in the outer half of the tail feathers, plus red feathering on the thighs. Bill is all-dark and heavy like other parrots and parakeets.

Habitat:
Urban and suburban, often in the vicinity of exotic fruiting trees. My be found around pastures and stockyards.
Behavior:
Like other Psittaformes, these birds are highly social, forming large communal roosts outside the breeding season.
Feeding:
This species feeds on various fruits, berries, nuts, seeds and some flowers and buds. Considered a potential pest and may damage agricultural crops.
