
Introduced, exotic, and escaped from captivity; has naturalized and formed colonies in Florida, Texas, and other states. Adult, like other parakeets, is predominantly green with a long pointed tail; has dark blue flight feathers, gray breast and forehead, orange bill, bright green back and head, and pale yellow-green underparts.

Habitat:
In North America, occupies urban and suburban areas, lowlands, and city parks.
Behavior:
Noisy and gregarious. Breeds in colonies; nest is a massive construction of sticks, often with multiple entrances, as several pairs may nest together.
Feeding:
Groups forage on the ground and in trees; eats grains, nuts, seeds, and fruit.
