
Medium sized parakeet with overall greenish plumage. Adult: Green head and breast may have scattered red or orange feathers. Pink or red skin around eye with pale iris. Pale pinkish bill. Green body and wings. Gray or pale pink legs and feet. In flight, shows pale yellowish flight feathers. Juvenile: Similar to adult, but has brown iris.

Habitat:
Natural habitat is open forests, woodlands, wooded swamps, farmland, and scrubby areas with cliffs; man made structures or tree cavities for nesting. In North America, escapees and established feral populations could be found in a variety of urban or suburban areas with trees.
Behavior:
Often form flocks. May nest in colonies or singly.
Feeding:
Diet consists of seeds, fruit and greens.
