
A large warbler of Southwest Texas. Adult has gray head, white eye ring, reddish-edged crown, yellow undertail coverts, brownish-gray underparts, and brownish-green wings, back and tail. Virginia's Warbler is smaller, has yellow on breast, and lacks overall brown tones. Bill is fairly long and sharp. Nashville Warbler is brighter, with yellow underneath. Note range.

Habitat:
Chaparral, dry pine-oak forests with grassy understory.
Behavior:
