
This little vireo has suffered drastic declines in the past century, and is listed as endangered. The upperparts are olive green, with two dull whitish wing bars. The male's head is black, with bold white spectacles. The female shows a similar pattern, but the head is dark gray. The underparts, including the throat, are white with an olive-yellow wash on the sides. Adults have red eyes. Juveniles are similar to adults, but with less contrasting gray heads and brown eyes.
